West Ham are ‘not concerned’ by the price tag for 16-goal striker Gianluca Scamacca as a report claims David Moyes still wants the Italian.
The Hammers have been heavily linked with Chelsea striker Armando Broja.
Indeed the Slough-born Albanian forward is said to be Moyes’ prime striker target.
At the moment that move is far from a sure thing. So West Ham undoubtedly need another option.
And links to Italian striker Scamacca are not going away.
West Ham are said to have spoken to Sassuolo about signing Scamacca according to a report from 90min this week.
“Among those (strikers) the club are interested in are Sassuolo duo Raspadori and Scamacca, who are both taking on a more important role in Italy’s national team under Roberto Mancini,” 90min reports.
Sources close to coveted striker Scamacca have spoken out on reports of a West Ham move to sign him.
The sources – including some close to the striker himself – have told Get Italian Football News that West Ham have not YET made an approach.
It is widely reported that Sassuolo will cash in on Scamacca this summer. Bids were expected from some top clubs including PSG, Inter Milan, Milan and Juventus.
A new report from Football Italia suggests those so-called elite clubs may have had a change of heart over Scamacca following a period of ‘radio silence’.
But West Ham are ‘not concerned’ by the price tag for 16-goal striker Scamacca as the report claims Moyes still wants the Italian.
And Scamacca, who scored 16 goals last season, now looks set for a move outside of Italy if he leaves Sassuolo.
“Gianluca Scamacca seemed destined for the jump to a top Italian club this summer but things have fallen quiet in recent weeks, raising doubts about his future,” Football Italia reports.
“La Gazzetta dello Sport details how Scamacca’s €45m (£38.75m) price tag scared off Juventus, Milan or Inter, leading all three clubs to focus on other targets instead.
“The 23-year-old now has to decide if he wants to stay with Sassuolo or move to a foreign club. West Ham have explored a possible deal and don’t seem too concerned about his price tag, whilst Paris Saint-Germain also remain keen, although they’re waiting for players to be sold before they’d consider a move.”
West Ham have also been linked with Scamacca’s Sassuolo teammate Giacomo Raspadori.
As reported by Hammers News, Raspadori has been dubbed the ‘new Tevez’.
