Reports coming out of Italy are claiming that West Ham United manager David Moyes could lose one of his key players on a free transfer.
David Moyes has a lot of work to do in the upcoming January transfer window, and the West Ham boss will have to make a fair few signings in the summer as well.
The Hammers are in a decent position right now, having won our first major trophy for 43 years last season, but we really have to start pushing on.
In order to do that, Moyes needs to not only sign some top talent but also keep his best players at the London Stadium.
Whether you like Tomas Soucek or not, he is definitely one of Moyes’s most important players, and he has been in great form this season, saving us with late goals on multiple occasions.
The Italian media have tried to stir the pot regarding Soucek’s future at the London Stadium, but failed miserably…
Claim suggests Moyes could lose West Ham man on free transfer
TuttoMercatoWeb are claiming that the Hammers will lose Soucek on a free transfer unless he signs a new contract soon.
Here’s the thing though, the 28-year-old put pen to paper on a new four-year deal with West Ham back in the summer – one that runs until 2027.
It baffles me that major outlets across Europe are unable to do just a little bit of research before spreading false rumours.
Soucek obviously won’t be leaving West Ham on a free transfer anytime soon, and I doubt Moyes will let his key man leave even if a club comes in with a substantial offer for him.
The former Slavia Prague man plays a key role in the way that we set up as a team, and it has been great to see him back in amongst the goals again this season.
Soucek’s aerial ability is crucial for the Hammers at both end of the pitch, and his work-rate, passion and commitment to the cause can’t be match by anyone else at the club, aside from maybe Jarrod Bowen.
Moyes won’t be losing the West Ham midfielder on a free transfer, despite what TMW are claiming.
