Arsenal are ready to bid €50 million (£43 million) for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and it could impact upon both Chelsea and West Ham.

Should the Blues miss out on the Serbian, they may well switch their attention back to Declan Rice.

And that would obviously be very bad news indeed for West Ham.

Chelsea have continually been linked with a move to the 23-year-old West Ham midfielder and he is valued at around £150 million (Daily Mail).

We did cover a piece suggesting that the Hammers are still in a strong position to keep hold of Rice, however.

He began his youth career with the west London club before leaving to join the Hammers’ academy aged 14.

Rice is a boyhood Chelsea fan, so if he were to leave the London Stadium, a return to the west side of London would be a likely outcome.

The West Ham fans are always wary that Dec could one day return to his boyhood club.

And if Arsenal sign Tuchel target Milinkovic-Savic, it might just convince Chelsea to come knocking for Rice.

The Lazio ace is one of the very best midfielders in the world.

The 27-year-old is a central midfielder who usually operates slight deeper. He is a sensational player in fairness.

Football Italia recently described the midfielder as an ‘unstoppable’ player.

So if Chelsea miss out to Arsenal on the signing of Milinkovic-Savic, they will need to target one of the very best midfielders instead.

Let’s hope that the West Ham owners stand firm because we absolutely cannot afford to lose Declan Rice this summer.
