That is now looking like a huge mistake from Chelsea.

Rice has established himself as West Ham’s best player. He is absolutely crucial for David Moyes and keeping him at the London Stadium will be vitally important if we are to achieve any kind of success over the next few years.

The Chelsea fans would clearly love to have Rice back in west London. He could very well be the final piece of the puzzle for Tuchel.

Hopefully the West Ham owners dig their heels, however. The England international is still under contract at the London Stadium until the summer of 2024 after all. The Hammers have the option of extending that deal by a further 12 months as well.

We really are very lucky to have him. The West Ham fans absolutely adore Rice.
