It looks to be all systems go for West Ham and Oleksandr Zinchenko as Man City plot £30m signing of Brighton star Marc Cucurella.
West Ham are desperate for a new left-back as one of David Moyes’s top priorities this summer.
And the Hammers have long been linked with a move for Man City man Zinchenko.
According to a report from West Ham insiders Claret and Hugh just last month, Moyes want to bring Zinchenko to the London Stadium this summer as an upgrade on Aaron Cresswell.
If accurate, then West Ham will be hugely encouraged today as it seems the path is clearing for Moyes to get the Man City man.
It could be all systems go for West Ham and Zinchenko as Man City reportedly plot the £30m signing of Brighton star Marc Cucurella.
Pep Guardiola is said to be a massive fan of the former Barcelona left-back, who has been a revelation with Brighton.
Cucurella has become known for his swashbuckling runs and boundless energy up and down the left hand side for Brighton.
Now the likes of The Daily Mail claim Guardiola is seriously keen on Cucurella, who has won possession more than any other full back in the Premier League this season – 241 times.
After West Ham played Brighton earlier this season a large section of Hammers fans were calling for Moyes to move for Cucurella.
It is easy to see why. The Spaniard has also created as many goal scoring chances from open play as Mason Mount in the Premier League this season (38).
It seems West Ham will have little chance of that, though, with Man City said to be prepared to meet Brighton’s £30m asking price – double what they paid Getafe for Cucurella just a year ago (The Daily Mail).
A move to Man City could yet benefit West Ham, though.
It would cast serious doubts over Zinchenko’s future given he has only made 10 Premier League starts as it is this season (WhoScored).
And he would be a quality addition for the Hammers.
If Moyes is still interested then it looks like it could be all systems go for West Ham and Zinchenko if Man City get their man – as they invariably almost always do.
