West Ham United head coach Julen Lopetegui could imminently be given license to attack the transfer market once again.
Julen Lopetegui has enjoyed a wonderful transfer window so far, having brought eight new players to West Ham.
The West Ham fans are buzzing with excitement about what the future holds for us, and Lopetegui has insisted that he’s after even more new signings.
However, the Spaniard will have to get rid of some of the fringe players first, before he can even think about making any new signings.
As things stand, the West Ham head coach hasn’t had much luck doing that, with some of our big earners refusing to walk away from their massive salaries.
That said, that could all be about to change.
All systems go for Julen Lopetegui as West Ham receive official bid
If this one goes through, Lopetegui may well be given the power to go out and bring in one or two more top-class signings before the transfer window slams shut.
With a move for Carlos Soler in the pipeline, moving on one or two of the fringe players before the transfer window closes will be a necessity.
And it seems like the Hammers have a great chance of doing just that.
According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad have sent an official bid for Nayef Aguerd.
The 28-year-old moved to the London Stadium from Rennes in the summer of 2022 for around £30 million (Sky Sports), and he earns around £90k-a-week (Caught Offside).
Lopetegui has already dropped a big hint that he plans to sell West Ham centre-back Nayef Aguerd, after the Moroccan was omitted from the match-day squad for our clash with Bournemouth last night.
And now it could well be all systems go…

The Carabao Cup win over Bournemouth highlighted the need for another creative midfielder.
Soler is exactly the type of player we need right now.
Without Lucas Paqueta for the first hour of the game on Wednesday night, our play through the middle of the pitch was painfully slow, and we lacked any kind of fluidity.
West Ham signing Carlos Soler before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline is an absolute necessity, but the only way we can do that is by moving on some big earners first, preferably for decent fees.
Nayef Aguerd is someone who has nothing to offer West Ham anymore – he’s painfully ill-suited to Premier League football.
Let’s hope that a move out to Saudi comes to fruition for the Morocco international within the next 24 hours or so.
