The will he, won’t he Jesse Lingard saga continues unabated for West Ham United.
And in the latest twist, West Ham insiders Claret and Hugh have claimed agents are now ‘working on the nuts and bolts of a deal’ to bring him to the London Stadium on a permanent basis from Manchester United.
Keeping track of the Lingard rollercoaster has not been easy for West Ham fans.
It has been clear for some time that getting the midfield ace signed permanently is David Moyes’s main priority this summer alongside signing a striker.

Lingard saga a rollercoaster of emotions for West Ham fans
Many West Ham fans were devastated to hear Lingard had reportedly decided he wanted to stay and fight for his place at Man United (The Sun).
Hammers insider ExWHUemployee backed up those claims with his own Lingard update recently, conceding the midfield ace looked more likely to stay at Man United than sign for West Ham.
It represented a blow for West Ham as ExWHUemployee previously revealed that Lingard had been telling his Hammers teammates he wanted to sign permanently.
There were also reports Lingard would demand to become West Ham’s highest paid player should he sign for the club (Football Insider).

And it appeared to be great news for Moyes as Lingard said the thing that matters most to him is regular game time.
Still with us?
Well it appears there may be some hope yet as West Ham insiders Claret and Hugh claim agents have just started working on the ‘nuts and bolts of a deal’.

‘Negotiations are still to start with Man United’
“As we understand it Jesse is currently on around £80k a week at Old Trafford and won’t be looking for a £30k rise which would be needed to make him the best paid Hammer – a position currently held by Andriy Yarmolenko,” Claret and Hugh state.
“Given the current financial scenario surrounding the game such a rise would be entirely impossible and it’s more likely he would receive a small rise on his basic pay and enhanced appearance payments.
“Negotiations are still to start with Manchester United over a possible deal but we understand – as is usually the case – agents are busy on discussing the nuts and bolts of it!”
With 69 days left until the summer transfer window closes there is plenty of time yet to get something sorted.
