Adnan Januzaj is on the verge of deciding where he will be playing football this upcoming season amidst strong links with West Ham United.

That’s according to a report from El Diario Vasco who claim that the 27-year-old winger is wanted by the Hammers, Real Betis and Napoli and will soon make his final decision.

West Ham manager David Moyes has been heavily linked with a move to sign the 13-capped Belgium international this summer by the likes of Spanish publication AS.

In fact, AS claim that the Hammers have already made an offer to Januzaj and his representatives.

Moyes will be keen to bolster his wide attacking department after the exit of Andriy Yarmolenko this summer. Specifically, the addition of a left-footed right winer is needed to help provide stiff competition and cover for Jarrod Bowen.

And it seems as though the Hammers have a great chance to strengthen the right wing department on the cheap…

Adnan Januzaj on verge of big decision amid West Ham links

El Diario Vasco claims that the 27-year-old attacker will make his decision regarding his future imminently, with the Hammers well in the race to acquire his signature this summer.

We think that signing Januzaj on a free transfer would be a very smart move from West Ham.

Januzaj has been described as a brilliant player by Manchester United legend Paul Scholes (talkSPORT).

And on his day, he is extremely exciting to watch. The problem is that he is not very consistent. And his stats last season make for pretty grim reading, with just five goals and three assists to his name in 44 games (Transfermarkt).

The 27-year-old has never hit the heights that were expected of him when he burst onto the scene as a teenager a decade ago when David Moyes of all people gave him his debut for Manchester United.

Moyes also brought him to Sunderland on loan during his spell in charge at the Stadium of Light.

Januzaj is still a very decent player when he’s at his best. He can play anywhere along the front-line and possesses exceptional technical ability.

The Belgian’s availability on a free transfer and his apparent wage demands of around £95k-a-week (Estadio Deportivo) makes him the ideal replacement for Yarmolenko – and a more cost effective one at that.

If Adnan Januzaj does end up joining West Ham this summer, he will certainly provide adequate cover for Bowen. And you can’t ask for much more than that considering the fact that he will not cost a penny in transfer fees.
