West Ham United have been ramping up their pursuit of Eintracht Frankfurt ace Filip Kostic over the past few days and Jack Rosser has provided the latest update.

Rosser has claimed that the Hammers have made a £12.5 million bid for the 29-year-old, when writing for The Sun, but the Bundesliga club are holding out for closer to £16 million.

And furthermore, Rosser suggests that West Ham are confident of getting a deal done for the 48-capped Serbia international.

Initially, there were concerns that Kostic could opt to stay with Eintracht Frankfurt this summer and leave on a free transfer next year.

However, it seems as though that may well not be the case.

David Moyes is desperate to bring someone into the club who can play as a left wing-back and a left winger. So it’s little wonder why the Scot is so keen to bring Kostic to the London Stadium…

When writing for The Sun, Rosser outlined how West Ham need to raise their initial £12.5 bid by a further £3.5 million if we are to get our hands on the 29-year-old this summer.

The Hammers are allegedly confident of signing Filip Kostic according to Jack Rosser though.

This would be a great deal to get over the line for the West Ham.

The Eintracht Frankfurt ace is an incredibly hard-working player.

He is old fashioned in the sense that he’s left-footed and plays on the left! As a result, Kostic is much more of a provider than a goalscorer.

The 48-capped Serbia international bagged 15 assists and seven goals in 43 games for Eintracht Frankfurt last season (Transfermarkt). That’s a healthy return by anyone’s standards.

On face value, he has everything that West Ham boss David Moyes looks for in potential new signings, aside from the fact that he is 29 of course!

We don’t believe that will be an issue for the Serb though.

He’s a self confessed ‘warrior on the pitch’ (Eintracht Frankfurt’s official website). He would certainly add so much to our play down the left hand side.

The 29-year-old currently earns around £43k-a-week according to Salary Sport. So he definitely won’t break our wage structure.

And after the Jack Rosser update on Filip Kostic, we think there’s every chance that the Serbian will end up at West Ham this summer.
