Hammers boss David Moyes has strengthened his central midfield ranks with the signings of Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse.

However, with Lucas Paqueta and Flynn Downes likely to leave, the addition of another midfielder will probably be needed. And it seems as though West Ham will have a great chance to sign Chelsea’s Gallagher…

£50 million Chelsea man Conor Gallagher could be West Ham bound as Mauricio Pochettino wants him gone

Fabrizio Romano reported recently that Chelsea want at least £50million for the 23-year-old Englishman.

And now the Telegraph claim that Pochettino wants to sell him this summer. However, Tottenham are keen to sign him, so Moyes will have to work fast, if he wants to get his man.

Gallagher would be a very solid addition for the Hammers, and Moyes will now have a great chance to sign him.

The 23-year-old possesses absolutely everything that Moyes looks for in a player – energy, stamina, top tier work ethic, athleticism and technical ability.

The thought of Conor Gallagher lined up alongside Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse in West Ham’s midfield is an exciting prospect.

Should Lucas Paqueta leave, we could do a lot worse than bringing in the Chelsea star.

However, £50 million does seem to be a little bit steep for the Englishman. Perhaps somewhere closer to £40 million would represent good value for the Hammers.
