'£20 million and he's yours' claims new report over Jesse Lingard move from Man United to West Ham

West Ham United have been told Jesse Lingard will be theirs for £20 million this summer.

West Ham fans use Barry from EastEnders to troll decision-makers over snub

That’s according to a new report from The Sun this weekend.

And West Ham are ‘confident’ of getting a deal done for Lingard, who has been a revelation since joining on loan from Man United in January.

West Ham desperate to get revelation Lingard signed permanently this summer

So much so he was the clear favourite for February’s Player of the Month award with nearly 70% of the popular fan vote.

West Ham fans were left bemused, though, when the award was handed to Ilkay Gundogan instead.

Hammers supporters won’t care too much about that in the long run as long as they get their wish to see Lingard signed permanently.

According to various reports West Ham boss David Moyes and the club’s owners are just as keen to seal a deal for the 28-year-old.

And The Sun claims Lingard will be theirs if they stump up Man United’s £20m asking price.

“The star has produced four goals and two assists so far in his six matches for David Moyes’ Champions League-chasing side.

“And that has convinced his former United manager to try and secure his services long-term at the end of the campaign.

“Lingard is believed to be valued at around £20 million by United,” The Sun states.

Eurosport also claimed United denied a request from West Ham to include a £15m option to buy as part of the loan package.”

Insider makes Lingard claim as Moyes reveals his hope for a meeting of minds over move this summer

The Sun’s report comes after reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee claimed this week that Lingard wants to stay.

Speaking on The West Ham Way podcast (Wednesday March 10th), Ex said Lingard has ‘expressed he would like to stay’ at West Ham.

Key to that, the insider claims, could be whether Gareth Southgate includes the attacking midfielder in his England squad when it is announced next Thursday – read full story here.

Speaking in his pre-Man United press conference Moyes himself has admitted he hopes both West Ham and Lingard will have a meeting of minds come the summer (Sky Sports).
