Opinion: West Ham will blow Arsenal away if we target £50 million weak-link Ben White

West Ham United must target Arsenal defender Ben White at The Emirates tonight.

The Hammers head to north London to take on Arsenal in the 8pm Premier League kick-off tonight.

A win and we will move five points clear of the Gunners.

Should Arsenal win though, we will find ourselves one point behind them.

Mikel Arteta is under-fire at the moment. Arsenal’s win over Southampton provided him with some respite but the Gunners fans won’t let him enjoy that victory for too long.

West Ham need to get right in amongst the Arsenal players tonight. Let’s put them under pressure early and the mood inside the Emirates could turn quickly if we get on top.

The Gunners signed Ben White from Brighton in the summer for around £50 million (Sky Sports).

The 24-year-old was signed primarily for his ball-playing ability. And yes, he is very good with the ball at his feet.

White is very weak in the air, however, and is susceptible to being bullied by opposing strikers.

The former Brighton man has received heavy criticism for his recent displays against Everton and Manchester United.

His lack of strength in aerial duels and over confidence in possession is something that we really can exploit this evening.

Firstly, we need to make sure that our very best attackers of the football from set-piece deliveries are swarming around White when we have a corner or a free-kick.

And secondly, we have to aggressively press the 24-year-old whenever he is in possession of the football.

Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen are the two players best equipped to do that. The Hammers duo shouldn’t give the 24-year-old Arsenal man any time whatsoever on the ball.

White is a top-class player on his day but he has undoubtedly been a weak-link for the Gunners in recent weeks.

And White’s poor form and low confidence is something that West Ham absolutely have to take advantage of tonight.
