The Hammers travel to Arsenal on Boxing Day this year.

Now, a London derby the day after Christmas is always something to look forward to, However, this year it may well be different.

The Gunners are leading the race to sign Declan Rice according to the likes of The Guardian.

And if the 24-year-old West Ham star does join Arsenal, December 26th could be the first time that he ever plays against the club he’s been with since he was 14.

Boxing Day has all the makings of a hugely emotionally taxing day for the Hammers faithful, after the Premier League fixtures were released. Despite the fact that most of us have accepted that he will be leaving, the thought of him playing for another Premier League side is still an extremely hard one to fathom.

We’re all hoping for a good season, and hopefully David Moyes brings in players who are more than capable of filling the void left behind by Dec.

That said, even if we do sign a top-class midfielder or two, it won’t make it any easier seeing Rice in an Arsenal shirt.
