One West Ham United player is touch and go to return to action for our Premier League clash with Aston Villa tomorrow.
West Ham play host to Aston Villa in the Premier League at the London Stadium tomorrow, in what will be a vitally important game for both sides.
The Hammers need a win to keep pace in the race for the top seven, whilst Villa need all three points to keep their Champions League dream alive.
West Ham players and David Moyes will surely fancy their chances, with John McGinn, Ollie Watkins and Diego Carlos all ruled out for the visitors.
The Hammers boss has pretty much a fully fit squad to choose from, with Maxwel Cornet the only player who definitely won’t be available tomorrow. However, there is one Hammer who’s a doubt for the Villa clash…
West Ham man is 50/50 for Aston Villa clash
Moyes addressed the media today during his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Villa tomorrow.
And the Scot replied when asked to provide a fitness update on Emerson Palmieri, as quoted by The Birmingham Mail:
“With Emerson, it will be a late call to see how he is. He has not got a serious injury, but he has a bit of a groin strain, so we will need to see how he is.”
Emerson has been in exceptional form for West Ham so far this season, and getting him back in the team as soon as possible will be vitally important to our hopes of achieving any kind of success.
At the same time though, I don’t want to see Moyes rushing him back from injury – the Scot has been burned too many times doing this in the past.
If he is 100 per cent ready though, West Ham could really do with him against Aston Villa tomorrow. That said, if I had to guess I reckon he’ll be on the bench at best for the game against the Champions League chasing Villans.
