A young star West Ham lost last year has scored on his Ligue 1 debut for Marseille and he could’ve solved a big David Moyes issue.
West Ham fans could be forgiven for not recognising the name Emran Soglo.
Back in 2021 it was reported that West Ham were moving to snap up teenage starlet Soglo, who had almost signed for European giants Bayern Munich the summer before.
Soglo had looked set to complete a shock move to German giants Bayern (The Sun).

The West Ham trialist spent a week training with Bayern’s Under 17s and was elevated to the Under 19s after impressing coaches.
But the move never materialised and he joined West Ham instead. Given Bayern’s interest, signing Soglo – who had been at Chelsea – was seen as quite the coup for the Hammers.
And with good reason it seems. England youth star Soglo departed West Ham last year when he left the club to join Marseille.
Now the young star West Ham lost last year has scored on his Ligue 1 debut for Marseille and he could’ve solved a big David Moyes issue.
Marseille have converted Soglo – formerly a midfielder – into a left wingback who can also operate as a left-back or winger.

And the 18-year-old scored on his debut for Marseille in a 2-2 draw at Metz after joining the French side from West Ham last year.
You can see Soglo’s goal in the posts at the bottom of this article.
One swallow does not a summer make and all that. But how Moyes could do with a young talent like Soglo right now as he desperately searches for a new left-back amid Aaron Cresswell’s advancing years and push to join Wolves.
Cresswell is back training with the first team for now but the ageing player’s West Ham future remains uncertain as Moyes looks to bring in a younger player to compete with Emerson.
