You won’t believe how badly things are going for Alex Kral after West Ham exit in 2022

Alex Kral is enduring an absolute nightmare spell with Schalke after he left West Ham in the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old joined the Hammers on a season-long loan from Spartak Moscow in the summer of 2021.

West Ham had the option to sign him permanently in the summer of 2022 for around £17 million (£12 million plus a potential £5 million in add-ons).

However, David Moyes obviously did not take up that option, and Kral ended up moving to Bundesliga side Schalke.

Alex Kral enduring nightmare season with Schalke after West Ham exit

The Czech Republic midfielder has experienced real problems this season. Firstly, his Schalke side are firmly rooted at the bottom of the Bundesliga table, having taken just 11 points from 19 games so far this term. They are almost certainly nailed on for relegation.

He’s struggling to produce the goods for Schalke from an individual perspective as well.

Kral has made 14 appearances for the Bundesliga side this season, and is still yet to bag either an assist or a goal (Who Scored).

The Czech Republic international clearly wasn’t good enough to be playing Premier League football.

And perhaps the same can be said of him in the Bundesliga, only time will tell I guess.

The early signs are not good for the 24-year-old midfielder though.

Things couldn’t have gone much worse for Alex Kral since he joined West Ham in the summer of 2021. He hardly kicked a ball at the London Stadium and he has since gone on to join a club who are averaging only just over 0.5 points per game!

I feel bad for Kral, he seems like a nice lad, and I hope that his next move is a better fit for him, for his own sanity!
