West Ham United manager David Moyes must find a way of getting Hammers star Pablo Fornals back to his best..
And in my opinion, the solution to the Spaniard’s rather patchy form this season is a fairly straightforward one.

Fornals, 26, moved to the London Stadium from Villarreal in the summer of 2019 for around £25 million (The Telegraph).
The attacking midfielder instantly endeared himself to the West Ham faithful with his displays of passion and love for the club and hard work ethic on the pitch.

However, since Moyes took over at the end of 2019, he has hardly ever been utilised as a central midfield play-maker – his best and most natural position.
It’s time for Moyes to mix things up for the good of Fornals, and West Ham in general…
New formation is needed at West Ham with new role for Pablo Fornals
I would absolutely love Moyes to set up his team in a 4-3-3 formation, or even a 4-1-4-1.
The key to this is the midfield three setup. Declan Rice can act as the single pivot, with Lucas Paqueta and Pablo Fornals slotted in front of him.
The font three could then be a narrow one, with Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen playing really close to Gianluca Scamacca, when he returns from injury.
Not only will that get the best out of Fornals, but it will also be hugely beneficial to Scamacca, with players operating in and around him and feeding off of his exceptional hold up play.
I just feel like this formation could take us to a whole new level. The only problem with it is that in order to provide width, you need two quality full-backs who can attack and defend with equal aplomb.

Emerson has shown great improvements in recent weeks, as has Vladimir Coufal. So maybe those two will be able to perform the attacking wing-back role required to make the 4-3-3 work, for this season at least.
It’s certainly worth a try isn’t it.
Pablo Fornals is totally wasted for West Ham when operating as a left winger. He just hasn’t got the pace or athleticism required to play there.
It will be a different story if Moyes switches him into a central role though. With Fornals’ impressive technical ability and incredible vision, the 26-year-old would be able to take the quality of our football to the next level.
Let’s hope that Moyes tries this formation at some point, because it would undoubtedly fire us up the Premier League table in my opinion.
