Wolves are set to succeed where West Ham failed by signing Tim Steidten striker target Yuri Alberto it has emerged.
West Ham and Wolverhampton Wanderers have both been in the market for a new forward in the January transfer window.
And while the Hammers struggle to get one in the door, it seems Wolves are about to do just that with some salt rubbed in the wound for West Ham in the process.
It had been reported Wolves were interested in relieving West Ham of flops Danny Ings and/or Maxwel Cornet.
But not only are they not taking either, it seems Wolverhampton are set to land a player West Ham couldn’t.

Wolves to succeed where West Ham failed?
Because Wolves are set to succeed where West Ham failed by signing Tim Steidten striker target Yuri Alberto.
In the summer it was widely reported by the likes of The Daily Mail that Hammers technical director Steidten had flown to South America to discuss a potential move with Corinthians for Brazil striker Alberto.
As West Ham fans know, when Steidten gets on his plane he usually gets what he wants.
But as West Ham pushed to try and sign the striker before the summer deadline, it was one of the rare occasions the German came back empty-handed.
Now according to The Telegraph’s John Percy, Wolves have launched a late window move to sign 22-year-old Alberto on loan with an option to buy.

Rivals in for Steidten target Alberto
And Percy says talks are progressing on a deal.
“O’Neil, the Wolves head coach, has been determined to sign a ‘No 9’ goalscorer in the January window and the club is now in talks with Corinthians over a potential deal,” Percy states.
“Wolves have also considered West Ham’s Danny Ings and Paris St-Germain’s Hugo Ekitike this month, while a bid to sign Chelsea forward Armando Broja on a straight loan has been rejected by the London club.”
The journalist also mentions West Ham’s failed move for Alberto in his report, stating: “Alberto was linked with West Ham last summer and Corinthians officials claimed he turned down a move to join David Moyes’ team.”
Moyes has been very keen to add at least one new forward to his ranks before the window closes on Thursday night.
So watching Wolves potentially succeed where his club failed will be galling.
