West Ham United could be dealt a major Jhon Duran transfer blow by Chelsea in the January window it seems.
The mercurial Jhon Duran is seemingly up for grabs this month, with West Ham desperately keen to sign him, but Chelsea could now show us how it’s done.
After the Hammers failed to sign Duran in the summer, we were given fresh hope when Villa brought in Donyell Malen, leaving the door open for the South American to leave Villa Park.
And West Ham were said to have made a whopping £57 million bid for the 21-year-old striker.
The Villans rejected that offer – they want more money for him.
That’s so frustrating considering the fact that we could have picked him up for a bargain £40 million fee back in the summer.

Now Chelsea could be about to show West Ham how it’s done unfortunately.
A new claim has been made about our London rivals moving into position to bring Jhon Duran to Stamford Bridge.
West Ham open door for Chelsea to seal Jhon Duran deal
The Hammers and Chelsea are on a collision course this winter it seems.
Both clubs are frantically trying to bolster their centre-forward ranks at the London Stadium and Stamford Bridge respectively.
Now West Ham could be made to look very silly indeed.
That’s because Chelsea are said to be trying to succeed where we failed with Duran.
According to Chelsea reporter Si Phillips, the Blues have entered the race to sign the pacy front-man from Villa this winter.
Villa are demanding around £70 million for Duran this month, according to Mark McAdam, when speaking on Sky Sports News on Thursday (January 16th, 19:53).
Chelsea will be more than capable of paying that kind of money for the Aston Villa hitman.
Meanwhile, the Hammers owners will be regretting the fact that we they didn’t sign him for just over half of that price six months ago.
West Ham never learn, Jhon Duran was there on a plate
Why on earth didn’t the Hammers just pay £40 million for the Colombian in the summer?

The 21-year-old was literally there on a plate for us, after did the ‘crossed hammers’ sign during a live stream.
Now the decision not go go above £34 million for Duran seems utterly ludicrous. He’s worth double that now and his price-tag will have trebled in a couple of years.
Duran is an elite striker and he would take us to another level entirely, what with his explosive pace, elite movement and sensational finishing ability.
The Hammers owners always think in the short-term, and it seriously holds us back as a club.
What’s more, that strategy actually ends up costing more in the long-run, due to the constant need for squad rebuilds.
If Chelsea beat West Ham to the signing of Jhon Duran in the January transfer window, it will be a bitter pill to swallow for us.
However, it won’t surprise me one little bit if it happens. The Hammers are constantly too slow to react when it comes to transfers.
And this time it will end up really costing us.
