Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran was intrinsically linked with a move to West Ham United during the summer transfer transfer window.
West Ham missed out on Jhon Duran in the end, after Aston Villa demanded more than £40 million for the striker.

I just wish the Hammers would have paid Villa what they wanted for the striker now – he would have been exceptional for us this season, I’m convinced of it.
West Ham ended up with Niclas Fullkrug instead, and we all know how that turned out for us.
Atoning for that error will be crucial to the Hammers’ hopes of achieving success under Graham Potter.

Duran could well be the man we need to totally transform us into a truly unplayable attacking outfit.
And it seems like a deal to bring him to East London from Villa Park could actually be possible this winter.
Exciting Jhon Duran plan now possible for West Ham
There’s probably nothing that the Hammers fans would want more than Duran joining us from Villa in the January window.
West Ham have a real lack of pace up front, and we could really use the Colombian’s explosive speed and power.
There is seemingly a real chance of finally getting a deal done for the Villa ace.
According to a report from The Sun, Aston Villa are closing in on a £25 million deal to sign Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund.
And that means that the door may well be open for the Hammers to finally secure the signing of Villa striker Jhon Duran.
We’ve seen first hand just how dangerous Duran can be.

The 21-year-old scored the winner for Villa at the London Stadium earlier this season.
What Jhon Duran would bring to West Ham
Duran would be absolutely perfect for West Ham and he’d take us to another level entirely in Graham Potter’s system.
The Colombia international possesses explosive pace, unbelievably good movement and is a constant menace for opposing defenders.
Oh, he’s an exceptional finisher as well, and has bagged 12 goals in 26 games for Villa, for a total of just 976 minutes so far this season (Transfermarkt).
Jhon Duran’s ability to run in behind the opposition’s defence will provide West Ham with a completely different threat to our attacking play.
If he’s available in the January window, the Hammers must do everything within our power to make a deal happen.
Duran is an elite centre-forward in the making.
And if the Hammers manage to bring the Colombian to the London Stadium this month, it would make up for all of those failed striker signings we’ve made in the past.
