West Ham United set to announce second January transfer after Pablo

West Ham United now appear all set to make an official announcement and seal their second signing of the January transfer window.

Pablo joined West Ham and was on the bench for the shambolic 3-0 defeat against Wolves that left the team reeling in 18th place.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s job is in jeopardy and he desperately needs some help from the hierarchy to strengthen his side in the coming weeks.

If you could replace Nuno with one out-of-work manager, who are you picking?

And why?

West Ham all set for Taty Castellanos transfer

According to Lazio Press journalist Patrizio Pasqualini, ValeNtin “Taty” Castellanos appears all set for his move to the London Stadium.

West Ham will sign Castellanos in the January transfer window and are expected to announce the signing late on Monday morning.

If he is registered before midday, he will then be available for selection for the must-win game against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Castellanos would be a big upgrade over Callum Wilson!

While beating Forest would not get the Hammers out of the relegation zone, it would narrow the gap between the two teams to just one point.

It is unlikely that the Argentine forward will be starting that one, as he will have spent little time with his new teammates and would have completed just one full training session.

Does Castellanos’ arrival imply Nuno’s job is safe?

As Castellanos is arriving on Nuno’s watch, it is a sign that the Hammers hierarchy are backing him in the January transfer window.

Had there been immediate plans to part ways with the Portuguese, they likely would have pulled the plug on deals that are imminent.

It remains to be seen if Castellanos is indeed a Nuno signing or if he is someone that the recruitment team wanted to bring in regardless of who the manager is.

The pressure is certainly going to mount on the West Ham manager if they lose to Sean Dyche’s men on Tuesday night.

At that stage, fans may not be surprised if the board decide to part ways with their second manager of the season due to their failures to get the team out of the relegation zone.

The next few days are interesting, given the fact that there are four more weeks left for the window to shut.
