West Ham United apparently could lose one of our best young talents in January

A concerning report has emerged today about West Ham United potentially losing one of our best young players in January.

West Ham boss David Moyes needs to sign a couple of top-class players in the January transfer window, but he might need to move a few players on as well, due to FFP concerns.

The Hammers have struggled over the past few months, in spite of back-to-back wins heading into the International break, and things got really bad for us when Michail Antonio suffered a serious injury whilst away with the Jamaican national team.

Jarrod Bowen is a fitness concern as well, so that might well open the door for talented teenage hitman Divin Mubama.

The 19-year-old has been involved with the first-team this season, although he has only played 25 minutes (Transfermarkt).

I truly believe that Mubama is a special player and has a bright future in the game. However, will his future be at the London Stadium?

West Ham could lose Mubama in January

Divin Mubama is a transfer target for Derby County ahead of the January transfer window, according to a report from FLW.

The 19-year-old’s future with the Hammers is far from certain right now, after he apparently rejected a new contract offer from the club back in October.

The West Ham youngster will be out of contract at the London Stadium in the summer of 2024, so he’ll need to sign a new deal soon if we are to keep him.

If he fails to agree terms with West Ham United before the January transfer window opens, he’ll most likely move on elsewhere, and that would be a really bitter pill to swallow for us.

I have no doubts in my mind that Mubama has what it takes to make it at the very highest level of the game.

And judging by the latest reports, it seems like League One outfit Derby might just be the 19-year-old’s next destination. Losing Mubama would be sad times indeed for West Ham as far as I’m concerned.
