A Michail Antonio injury update has been shared, as West Ham United await results of a scan after he injured his knee whilst away on international duty with Jamaica a few days ago.
West Ham striker Michail Antonio was in the starting lineup for Jamaica for their clash with Canada on Saturday, but he lasted just 21 minutes before hobbling off the field with a knee problem.
The injury has since been diagnosed as a knee ligament issue, and one report claimed that the 33-year-old could be set to miss nine months of action.
Hammers boss David Moyes will be cursing his luck, considering just how light our centre-forward department is.
Whilst Antonio has been in poor for this season, losing him for a prolonged period of time will still be a big blow.
However, there is slightly better news doing the rounds regarding the Jamaica international’s injury today…

Michail Antonio injury update
According to the Evening Standard, Antonio has suffered a medial collateral ligament injury.
And it is alleged that those kind of injuries can take anywhere between 3-12 weeks to heal, although the Hammers are said to be hopeful that Antonio’s absence will not be towards the ‘harsher end of the scale’.
That would be a lot better than having Mikey unavailable for nine months wouldn’t it.
That said, the 33-year-old’s absence will still leave us short up front, and Moyes will undoubtedly be looking to sign a new striker in January.
Jarrod Bowen is worry as well, after leaving the England camp due to a knee complaint.
We were doing so well with injuries until this disastrous international break, and now we could really be struggling.
That said the latest Michail Antonio injury update is certainly a more positive one.
