West Ham transfer news – Ex-Barcelona right-back who spent 4 years in the PL offered to Moyes

The West Ham United transfer news will now start heating up, with the January transfer window just around the corner.

The January transfer window will be a vital one for David Moyes, and with so much West Ham transfer news flying around, it’s important for us to try and separate the rumours with no truth attached to them from the more believable stories.

Now, the Hammers need to sign a new right-back in January, that’s painfully obvious to see as far as I’m concerned.

Vladimir Coufal has been decent for West Ham this season but his impressive assist record has papered over the cracks of some very average performances.

The 31-year-old isn’t as quick and energetic as a most modern-day full-backs are, and Moyes must realise he needs to make an upgrade on him.

For that exact reason, the latest claim coming from the Mirror makes absolutely no sense whatsoever…

West Ham transfer news – Right-back linked

Kiko Femenia has been offered to the Hammers ahead of the January transfer window according to a report from The Mirror (print edition December 14th, page 58).

The Villarreal man began his career with Barcelona before moving on to Alcoron, Alavez and then Watford, where he spent five years – four of which in the Premier League.

He then moved to Villarreal in the summer of 2022 but the Spaniards are hawking him out to Premier League clubs this winter, West Ham included.

Femenia is a decent right-back but here’s the thing, he’s 32. So why on earth would Moyes bring in someone who is older then Coufal?

It doesn’t make sense at all. The Hammers boss needs to bring in a young right-back with blistering pace, impressive tackling ability and a final product.

The Villarreal defender definitely isn’t the man for the job. I just think that agents include certain clubs when speaking to the press sometimes to generate extra interest in their client.

He was a decent defender in his day but not any more. He’ll be 33 in just over a month’s time as well!

This is some West Ham transfer news that we can ignore in my opinion. I’m certain Kiko Femenia will not be joining the Hammers in January.
