A photo has emerged showing West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek with brutal wounds on his face following Czech Republic’s draw with Poland last night.
Tomas Soucek has been well known for putting his body, and more specifically his head and face, on the line during his time with West Ham.

The 28-year-old Czech Republic ace might not be the best footballer, but he always gives 100% for the Hammers and his country of course.
David Moyes absolutely loves Soucek, and the midfielder has definitely been better for us this season, after making the honest admission that he found it hard to motivate himself last term.
The former Slavia Prague man is hugely popular amongst the West Ham fans, and a photo has come to light today showing exactly why he’s such a highly respected character…

The Hammers midfielder scored for the Czech Republic last night against Poland, and he suffered a nasty blow to the face from Jan Bednarek’s boot as well:
That looks absolutely horrendous, but how did Soucek emerge from the nasty collision? Smiling as per usual…
Wow, that really does look nasty doesn’t it…but it’s nothing that Soucek can’t handle – he’s been there plenty of times in the past after all.
The 28-year-old has put his head where most others wouldn’t on numerous occasions for West Ham over the past few years:
Tomas Soucek is as hard as a coffin nail, and the scars adorning his face are evidence of his bravery.
He is often criticised quite heavily from the West Ham fans, myself included. However, I feel like that’s unfair at times. The Czech midfielder obviously puts everything on the line every single time he takes to the pitch.
And it really is time that he starts getting more respect now in my opinion – he deserves everyone’s support for the level of commitment that he brings to each and every match.
