West Ham United face Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

A win for Liverpool would almost guarantee them their 20th top flight title, whilst West Ham need a good result in order to start building some momentum heading into the 2025/26 Premier League season.

Graham Potter has improved West Ham’s defending but his side are simply not firing from an attacking perspective.

The horrendous squad building over the past couple of years has made Potter’s task of turning things around at West Ham incredibly difficult.

However, he knew what he was letting himself in for when he took the job.

Now he has to start getting some results because no matter the size of the rebuild that awaits in the summer, the Hammers simply cannot continue to lose and draw games on a consistent basis.

Ahead of Liverpool vs West Ham Luis Guilherme hints he’s starting

Luis Guilherme was somewhat of a strange signing from the Hammers in the summer transfer window.

At the time, we were crying out for a pacy young striker and a powerful box-to-box midfielder.

However, Tim Steidten ended up bringing Guilherme to the London Stadium instead.

It was just an utterly bizarre move when you really think about it.

It was claimed recently that Luis Guilherme has seriously failed to impress in West Ham training.

However, he must have made big strides since Potter replaced Lopetegui.

Remember it was Potter who fought to keep Guilherme at West Ham in the January transfer window.

And now he could be set to start against Liverpool on Sunday.

Guilherme took to his official X account on Saturday night and posted a message ahead of the game:

West Ham should sell Luis Guilherme

Nobody knows whether or not Guilherme will come good down the line.

In the here and now though, he simply isn’t what West Ham need.

If there is a club who are willing to pay anything like £15 million or more for Luis Guilherme in the summer, West Ham should sell the teenager without a moment’s hesitation.

The 19-year-old was a bizarre signing from the get-go, and I truly believe he should be moved on if there is the opportunity to do so.
