West Ham United new boys Kurt Zouma and Nikola Vlasic have been pictured training with the club for the first time.
West Ham’s £60 million signings Zouma and Vlasic signed just before the international break.
They shone for France and Croatia respectively on the international stage over the last couple of weeks.
And now the duo have had their first day of training at Rush Green.
West Ham posted pictures of Zouma and Vlasic in their Hammers training gear.
Zouma has taken the number four shirt at West Ham while Vlasic is the club’s new number 11 after Jesse Lingard rejected a return to the London Stadium.
West Ham signed France international Zouma from Chelsea for £29m and Moyes insisted he ‘was always his first choice’.
Vlasic is reported to have cost over £30m with add-ons and will have the responsibility of replacing Lingard’s goals and assists from last season.
Fellow West Ham new boy Alex Kral – along with Tomas Soucek, Vladimir Coufal, Andriy Yarmolenko and Declan Rice – will not be back in training until tomorrow having played for the Czech Republic, Ukraine and England respectively.
Moyes is excited by the signings of Zouma and Vlasic.
The Scot delivered his verdict on the duo in a recent interview with West Ham’s official website.
‘Strong, powerful and always my first choice’ – Moyes on Kurt Zouma
“Kurt is a player we have tracked for some time, and we have taken great care and diligence to make the transfer happen,” Moyes told whufc.com.
“He was always our first choice and I am very happy that he is now our player. Kurt will join a squad full of players who are hungry and ambitious. He will provide competition to our squad. He is a strong, powerful player with great experience in the Premier League while he is also at a good age for a centre-back.
“Kurt has enjoyed great success at Chelsea and I can see that he is determined to continue being successful here at the London Stadium.”
‘Hungry and ambitious, I was really impressed’ – Moyes on Nikola Vlasic
Moyes added: “I have been watching him improve over recent seasons. He has got a good goals and assists record during that time. He is also a Croatia international with experience and still being only 23, I feel there is more to come from him.
“I was really impressed with how determined Nikola was to become a West Ham player. It’s that hunger and ambition that fits with what we are trying to build here at the club.”
