West Ham United insider ExWHUemployee has revealed what the club’s players actually think about the signing of Kurt Zouma.
Hammers boss David Moyes chased Zouma all summer and finally landed his man in a £29 million deal from Chelsea.
But The Sun has claimed that the Frenchman is on 125k-a-week wages which has caused unrest in the West Ham dressing room.
The tabloid claimed that several players are upset they have not received a bump in pay.
Now ExWHUemployee has revealed what West Ham’s players really think – and essentially says The Sun’s story is fake news – which may explain why it has been removed from the internet since.
The anonymous insider says Zouma is on £100k per week – not £125k. He says that the West Ham players have no issue with Zouma’s wages and are happy the club have signed him.
“The player is on around £100k a week and yes that makes him one of the highest earners but no player has disputed this,” ExWHUemployee said on The West Ham Way Patreon site.
“Any contract negotiation that is currently on going or needs resolving (with other players) will not be affected by his arrival.
“Kurt Zouma, is a current French international who has won the league and Champions League in recent seasons, the players are happy with his signing.”
The Sun’s claims look all the more ridiculous when you consider that Manuel Lanzini – who barely plays – is on £100k per week and Andriy Yarmolenko picks up £115k per week.
Jack Wilshere was also on £100k per week before being released.
It seems The Sun are scrabbling around for stories during the notoriously quiet international break.
And historically West Ham have always been good for a story or a bit of drama. But under Moyes this is a very different West Ham, built around great team spirit and professionalism.
From all the reports on Zouma as a player and character, he will only add to that.
