West Ham managerial target Will Still has lifted the lid on the night of terror which rocked football after attending an international clash.
When David Moyes was facing an uncertain future at West Ham one managerial candidate in particular had become an increasingly intriguing option.
You all know the Will Still story by now. A lifelong West Ham fanatic who honed his managerial skills playing Football Manager before putting them to use and taking Ligue 1 by storm with unfancied Reims.
Having repeatedly stated in interviews that he dreams of managing his beloved West Ham, it was no surprise Still was linked as a potential replacement for Moyes during the dark days last season.
Indeed it was even claimed Still was on a six-man shortlist compiled by the West Ham board should they have parted ways with Moyes.

Now West Ham managerial target Still has lifted the lid on the night of terror which rocked football after attending an international clash.
Still was born in Belgium to English parents.
And the Hammers fan was one of the 35,000 who attended Belgium’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Sweden this week when it was abandoned at half-time after two fans were shot dead in Brussels before kick-off.
Belgian authorities have since raised the terror alert to its highest level with Prime Minister Alexander De Croo describing the incident as a “brutal terrorist attack”.
Still was in the crowd on the night and has gave a first-hand account from inside the stadium as UEFA controversially decided to go ahead with the match.

‘Tense but calm… the communication was pretty clear’
“The feeling inside the stadium, for now, is pretty calm,” Still told RMC Sport and BMFTV live from the match as events unfolded.
“Everyone remained silent during the announcements when the match was stopped. There are supporters chanting, but it’s all a bit vague.
“Everyone has been allowed to leave the stadium. I am patiently waiting to be allowed to leave. It’s pretty calm. There isn’t really any panic or anything like that. It was a bit tense and calm at the start, but it’s okay now. The communication was pretty clear that we should stay in the stands. It was a bit long, but it was okay.”
Nobody should ever go to a football match and not come home.
They are scenes that will likely live with Still forever.
The Hammers fan put talk of a potential move to West Ham to bed when he signed a new contract with Reims in the summer.
And stock continues to rise for the man tipped to be a future West Ham boss as Still’s side sit fifth in Ligue 1 and scored one of the team goals of the season recently.
