Said Benrahma failed his audition for West Ham on the big stage against Anderlecht in the Europa Conference League tonight.
I have supported Benrahma consistently over the past couple of years and have highlighted David Moyes’s role in the 27-year-old’s struggles.

The simple point of the matter is that the Algerian just has to do more though and tonight, he just wasn’t good enough, end of story.
Benrahma, who earns £58k-a-week at the London Stadium (Salary Sport) is capable of producing so much better than he showed tonight.
And unfortunately for Benny, without sounding over-reactionary, that may well now be curtains for his Hammers career…
Said Benrahma stinks out the place for West Ham vs Anderlecht
The 27-year-old was handed a big chance by David Moyes in Europe tonight.
Having been left out completely for our win against Wolves on Saturday, this was a chance that Benrahma had to grasp.
And sadly, he did the complete opposite. There was just no defending his shocking performance this evening.
Benrahma was wasteful with the ball and failed to make any kind of impact inside the final third.
He found himself in dangerous positions time and time again, and his woeful display was summed up inside the first-half when he blazed over the bar in acres of space from 10 yards out.
David Moyes dragged Benrahma off after 68 minutes and his replacement – Lucas Paqueta helped turn the game in our favour with a superb assist for Gianluca Scamacca.
The 27-year-old made no kind of impression tonight. In fact that’s not necessarily true – he gave Moyes more ammunition to leave him out of his future starting lineups.
Said Benrahma had a big chance to make a point to Moyes during the Anderlecht vs West Ham clash tonight.
And the Algerian failed miserably. It was really sad to see because we know there’s a player in there somewhere.
We wouldn’t be surprised one little bit to see Benrahma leave the London Stadium in January or next summer.
It’s so clear to see that the 27-year-old and Moyes are not a match made in heaven. And the sooner he leaves West Ham, the better it will be for his own career in my opinion.
