West Ham made a big error by not signing Mohamed Simakan, with Arsenal now set to try and bring him to North London.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, Arsenal could try to sign RB Leipzig defender Mohamed Simakan this summer, two years after West Ham missed out on his signature.

Simakan joined Leipzig instead for around €15 million (£13 million) though (Goal).
And now Foot Mercato claim that Arsenal want to prise the French centre-back away from the Bundesliga outfit…
Arsenal signing Mohamed Simakan would be a really bad look for West Ham
Leipzig want around €40 million (£36 million) for the 23-year-old defender (Football.London). That’s outrageously good value as far as I’m concerned.
However, it’s so annoying that West Ham didn’t pick him up or just £13 million two years ago. What a player we would have on our hands now.
Foot Mercato reckon that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is eyeing up a move to bring him to the Emirates this summer.
And Arsenal could be getting a truly sensational player.

In 22 Bundesliga appearances this season, the Frenchman averaged 0.8 tackles and 2.1 clearances and 1.6 aerial duels per game. He has made 42.6 passes per game on average and has recorded a completion rate of 81.9% (Who Scored).
Mohamed Simakan has absolutely everything needed to succeed in the Premier League. He has strength, pace and power in abundance. Football.London recently described him as the ‘perfect’ player.
He can play as a right-back and defensive midfielder if need be as well. That versatility makes his price-tag even more of a bargain.
West Ham could have signed him or just £13 million two years ago, and if Arsenal bring Simakan to the Premier League this summer, David Moyes will be kicking himself.
