West Ham have been hit by a new double blow as Spurs close in on Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou and leave the door open for a return.
With uncertainty surrounding David Moyes’ future at West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur managerless, both clubs have been heavily linked with mutual interest in several targets.
Hammers News reported recently that Tottenham chief Daniel Levy appeared set to take on former friend and West Ham vice-chair Karren Brady as he switched attentions to Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou.
With Moyes’ Hammers future uncertain, Brady dropped a clear hint last month that Celtic boss Postecoglou would be her choice to replace the Scot should he depart at the end of the season.
Brady’s gushing column on the Australian boss sparked speculation he would be West Ham’s new manager this summer.
Well Tottenham chief Levy has done exactly that.

West Ham hit by new double blow as Spurs close in on Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou and leave door open for Brendan Rodgers return
While Spurs were being linked with Postecoglou over the last week, speculation also emerged that Moyes could replace him at Celtic.
Hammers News warned bitter rivals Tottenham could be set to make West Ham a laughing stock by stealing a march on the manager they wanted while also creating a vacancy for Moyes to fill at Celtic Park.
Moyes spoke out about those Celtic links in a press conference over the weekend. The Scot played down talk of a return to his former club. But what else what he supposed to say on the eve of a European final?
Now West Ham have been hit by a new double blow as Spurs close in on Celtic boss Postecoglou and leave the door open for a Brendan Rodgers return.

West Ham linked with Rodgers again over the weekend as Postecoglou gets permission for Spurs talks
West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for Rodgers should the club – as rumoured – part ways with Moyes after the Europa Conference League final.
There has been a new twist which is bad news for West Ham, though.
According to Sky Sports, Postecoglou has now been granted permission to speak to Spurs.
And Celtic want Rodgers back to replace him.

Spurs and Celtic managerial changes would see Hammers miss out on TWO reported targets
So not only do West Ham miss out on Postecoglou to Tottenham, their other option Rodgers could be out of the equation as a direct result too.
It was just yesterday we were reporting on new claims that West Ham are eyeing Rodgers following his sacking by Leicester.
Now he could be set for a sensational return to Scotland all thanks to Spurs.
“Celtic have granted Ange Postecoglou permission to speak to Tottenham,” Sky Sports reports.
“Sky Sports News expects talks between Postecoglou and Spurs to take place on Monday.
“Celtic have already begun working on Postecoglou’s potential successor, with Brendan Rodgers and Jesse Marsch two names in the frame.”
This could leave the Hammers board nowhere to go. And even if they do decide to stick with Moyes as a result, there is talk he could leave of his own accord.
