West Ham fans sent a clear message to the board with what they did in the 79th minute of the mauling at home to Newcastle.

Yet another pathetic performance resulted in a depressing 5-1 defeat for West Ham against Newcastle United at the London Stadium.

The hapless Hammers found themselves 2-0 down after just 13 minutes with the usual woeful start that has been a theme under David Moyes for the last 15 months.

Kurt Zouma pulled one back before the break from a corner to make it 2-1 at half-time.

But Nayef Aguerd brainlessly gave the ball away on the edge of his own box to gift Newcastle a 3-1 lead right at the very start of the second half.

It was all downhill from there as West Ham more or less capitulated conceding another couple of awful goals to seal a ridiculously easy 5-1 win.

If the pressure was not already at boiling point when it comes to Moyes’ future at West Ham then a heaviest home defeat in four years will do the job.

The Hammers have now won just 14 of their last 55 Premier League matches under the Scot.

And West Ham fans sent a clear message to the board with what they did in the 79th minute of mauling at home to Newcastle.

With over 15 minutes to go and the score at 3-1, Sky Sports’ cameras showed THOUSANDS of West Ham fans storming out as they turned their back on the manager and this sorry excuse for a team.

It was some statement from the supporters who were not fooled by the dreadful performance against Southampton at the weekend.

Any other team might feel confident of getting a goal back with that kind of time left. Not West Ham.

The boos rang out from the small number of West Ham fans that remained by full-time along with chants of ‘You’re getting sacked in the morning’.

And that is the question that will once again be asked of West Ham’s board after this utterly insipid performance which has given the club’s goal difference a hammering.

West Ham fans have talked with their feet tonight. Whether there would be any benefit to sacking Moyes now, with 10 games left, is anyone’s guess.

That is what David Sullivan and co must now decide.
