Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui has ditched Said Benrahma’s rapid compatriot Rayan Ait-Nouri and he’s absolutely perfect for West Ham.

Ask any West Ham fan to name the positions which need addressing most and both full-back areas won’t be far from the top of the list.

Meanwhile over at relegation rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers it seems big changes are in the offing in one of those positions too.

West Ham boss David Moyes needed to sign young, pacy modern full-backs in the summer in order to ensure the Hammers remained competitive at the higher end of the Premier League.

He failed to do that and both the left and right-back areas have been a major issue all season long as the Hammers battle against relegation.

After a hugely underwhelming start, Emerson Palmieri is slowly starting to look a decent acquisition. The Italian international turns 29 this summer and makes for a good experienced player in that position.

But the ageing Aaron Cresswell has no future in a Premier League side beyond this season.

So in the next window West Ham need to sign the young, modern left-back they should have last summer.

And a situation developing at under Julen Lopetegui at Wolves could provide the ideal solution.

Because the Wolves boss has ditched Said Benrahma’s rapid compatriot Rayan Ait-Nouri and he’s perfect for West Ham.

As reported by our colleagues at Molineux News, the writing is on the wall for Algerian star Ait-Nouri at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

West Ham fans will be well aware of the super quick and athletic 21-year-old as he has always been one of their standout players in matches against the Hammers.

Ait-Nouri is currently fully fit but has been completely left out of Wolves’ last two matchday squads by Lopetegui.

Fans in Algeria cannot believe the decision, so highly-rated is the player in his homeland.

Molineux News says Wolves fans are growing concerned that the £10 million star they describe as ‘an absolutely huge talent’ will be on his way out in the summer.

And West Ham should be waiting with open arms to snap him up if that does prove to be the case.

Ait-Nouri is ridiculously quick and agile, has a great engine to get up and down and is very technically gifted.

He could easily play for a top side so if the Hammers even have half a chance of getting him come the summer they should take it.

Having Emerson as the more senior left-back and Ait-Nouri to compete with him and give a different option would make West Ham so much stronger.

A similar solution needs to be found on the right-hand side too.

Given West Ham have open lines of communication with Wolves after giving them the brilliant Craig Dawson for a paltry £3.3m, it is a deal the club should be all over like a rash.

And it raises the potential for a tasty looking left-sided, all-Algerian partnership with Benrahma too.

Now there’s a thought.
