Astonishing fact emerges about David Moyes at West Ham after major managerial developments over the weekend.
If David Moyes had built up a bank of credit over the last two years at West Ham, he’s burned through most of it this season.
While the performance against Southampton will not live long in anyone’s memory, getting the win is all that matters for West Ham during the Premier League run-in.
We all know modern day football is a fickle industry where time waits for no main.
But West Ham’s board has steadfastly stuck by Moyes during a pretty dismal last 15 months of league form.

Historically the Hammers have never been a club to chop and change managers.
Sometimes that might be to the club’s detriment. But it is also something to be proud of in a league where there is an increasing tendency to hire and fire.
Gone are the days of decade-long – or more – dynasties led by titular figures such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger and, ironically, Moyes himself who enjoyed 11 years as Everton boss.
West Ham may have recorded a much-needed win in their battle to survive.
Astonishing fact emerges about David Moyes at West Ham after major managerial developments
But the weekend was notable for something else regarding West Ham and their manager too.
An astonishing fact has emerged about Moyes at West Ham after major managerial developments.
Reported West Ham managerial targets Graham Potter and Brendan Rodgers were sacked by Chelsea and Leicester respectively on Sunday.
It means that 11 Premier League clubs have changed their managers during the current campaign – some of them twice.

But it also means that Moyes has now become the fourth longest surviving manager in the Premier League since his return to West Ham back in 2020.
The Scot has been in the West Ham job for over three years now.
And during that time only Pep Guardiola at Man City, Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool and Mikel Arteta at Arsenal have managed to keep their jobs in the Premier League.
Brentford’s Thomas Frank has been in the job since 2018 – but only two of his five years have been in the top flight.
It is a quite staggering statistic which shows just how volatile football management has become at the top level.
And given the lack of success for some of those clubs, it perhaps also shows that change is not always the answer too.
