The South American attacker is one of the most talented young players on the planet. So recent reports linking him with a move to West Ham really were very exciting to see.

However, it seems as though Chelsea could scupper our plans…

The Blues are pushing hard to sign the Athletico Paranaense youngster according to Sport.

And if the Brazilian has a choice between joining West Ham or Chelsea, it’s unlikely that he’s going to pick us really isn’t it.

Athletico Paranaense are thought to be demanding around €40 million (£36 million) for the talented teenager. That sounds like exceptional value for money as far as I’m concerned.

At just 18, the young winger is a precocious talent. Foot The Ball describe Roque as an ‘incredible’ young player. He is a truly stunning athlete with a really high ceiling.

He can play on either wing or as a centre-forward, and he has already racked up a respectable 19 goals and six assists in 66 senior appearances (Transfermarkt).

Vitor Roque really does seem to have everything needed to go on and become a star of the game. Unfortunately for West Ham though, it seems like Chelsea are in pole position to sign him.

The Hammers really should have moved quicker to tie down the Brazilian starlet, before there was as much interest in his signature.
