West Ham are now being linked with a move to sign Monaco ace Youssouf Fofana as a replacement for Declan Rice this summer.

According to a report from L’Equipe, Youssouf Fofana is formally on the radar of West Ham in the summer transfer window, with Declan Rice being heavily tipped to leave the London Stadium.

And Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to find an adequate replacement for the England international.

And it seems as though the Scot has settled on someone in particular…

L’Equipe claim that the Hammers have already taken the first steps needed to sign the nine-capped France international for around €35 million (£30 million).

What a stunning signing Fofana would be for West Ham this summer. He has been described as an ‘unreal’ midfielder by Monaco’s official website.

The central midfield powerhouse possesses energy, athleticism, dynamism and strength in abundance. He’s built for Premier League football.

The 24-year-old has an incredible physique, but he’s not all about pace and power. The Frenchman is very good with the ball at his feet.

He has great experience in playing at the very highest level for a sustained period of time as well.

In my opinion, £30 million for Youssouf Fofana would represent incredible business for West Ham United this summer.

Let’s just hope that Moyes manages to get this one over the line rather than some of the tired, ageing Premier League players he has been linked with.

Fofana would be the ideal Declan Rice replacement for West Ham in the summer transfer window as far as I’m concerned.
