West Ham duo Gianluca Scamacca and Angelo Ogbonna were in high spirits as they enjoyed an Italian sing song on coach to Brighton.
After throwing away a golden opportunity to beat Man United and make the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, West Ham’s attentions now turn back to the very pressing matter of Premier League survival with a trip to bogey side Brighton on Saturday.
And there is no way to dress it up, West Ham’s record against the Seagulls since their promotion to the top flight is abysmal.
In 11 Premier League games between West Ham and Brighton since they came into the top flight in 2017/2018, the Hammers have failed to win a single match.
West Ham have lost five and drawn the other six. And they suffered a 2-0 defeat in the reverse fixture at the start of the season.
But that record can’t last forever, can it? And as the old saying goes ‘records are there to be broken’.
The 4-0 thumping of Forest last weekend has breathed new hope and life into West Ham’s battle to beat the drop.
And the performance against Man United was – for the most part – very encouraging also.
With Brighton’s Italian boss Roberto De Zerbi banned for the match against West Ham, David Moyes will be hoping it impacts the hosts and that his side can take advantage.
The Hammers certainly seem in good spirits ahead of the trip to the seaside if videos online are anything to go by this week.
A video from training earlier this week shows the players in great spirits together.
And West Ham duo Scamacca and Ogbonna were in high spirits as they enjoyed an Italian sing song on the coach to Brighton.
Scamacca has been in the headlines this week after being dropped by his agency over a “lack of trust”.
That sparked lazy rumours he could be angling for a move. But Hammers News has highlighted the real reason for the decision.
The £35m striker seems unaffected by it all as he filmed his compatriot Ogbonna as they enjoyed some Italian music on the team coach to Brighton and put it on his Instagram stories.
