Gary Neville has responded to a West Ham account over his alleged Declan Rice ‘agenda’ and clarifies recent comments.
As we edge ever closer to a summer window in which Rice is expected to leave West Ham, it seems the world and its wife are airing their views on our captain of late.
The football media in this country are notorious for trying to push players like Rice out of unfashionable clubs like West Ham.
Hammers fans have certainly had their fill of that over the last couple of years with the England star being linked with a who’s who of Europe’s elite.
But after three years of almost incessant praise, the narrative around Rice has changed dramatically recently.

He has been seriously questioned by some of the top pundits around and journalists in the know claim “the industry” value Rice well below the £100m plus West Ham would want to sell him.
For West Ham supporters who have watched the likes of Anthony Gordon and Kalvin Phillips being sold for £45m and £55m each, that notion is laughable.
But you’re only worth what someone is willing to pay.
Gary Neville has been particularly outspoken on Rice.
And he angered West Ham fans this week when he claimed Rice is only worth £50-60m and says he does not score enough goals.
The Sky Sports pundit and wannabe politician has been slammed by supporters and accused of having it in for Rice.

Gary Neville responds to West Ham account over his Declan Rice ‘agenda’ and clarifies comments
One West Ham account on social media highlighted to Neville that Casemiro and Rodri – who play the same role as Rice for Man United and Man City respectively – have scored the same number of goals as the Hammers skipper this season but have not been criticised for their lack of goals.
Now Neville has responded to a West Ham account over his Rice ‘agenda’ and clarified his comments.
Neville says he takes the point made about Casemiro and Rodri but believes they too are not worth £100m plus.
“I get that (point comparing Rice’s goal output with Rodri and Casemiro) but they aren’t being quoted at £120m,” Neville said on Twitter.
“I like Declan Rice a lot but the price tag is too great for that position without goals and assists.”
