West Ham United boss David Moyes still has his eye on long-term target Filip Kostic, as the January transfer window swings into action.
David Moyes has been linked with a move to bring Filip Kostic to West Ham since the summer of 2022, but he joined Juventus in the end, despite the fact that they offered him less money.
The Hammers manager wanted the 31-year-old with a view to him playing as a left wing-back for us, but settled on the signing of Emerson Palmieri in the end.
The 29-year-old Italian has proven to be a sensational addition for West Ham, and has undoubtedly been one of the best left-backs in the Premier League this season.
That doesn’t mean that we don’t need to sign another left-back, or wing-back, though. Aaron Cresswell is completely finished at the very highest level, and someone like Kostic coming into the club to compete with Emerson would take us to another level.
It seems like the Serbian is still firmly on Moyes’s radar…

West Ham eyeing Filip Kostic swoop in January
According to a report from the Telegraph, Moyes is keen to bring Kostic to the London Stadium this winter.
After our attempts to sign him in 2022, Moyes then made another attempt for the 31-year-old’s signature this summer just gone.
Kostic can play as a left wing-back or as a left winger, so he would provide Moyes with real strength in depth.
The 60-capped Serbia international possesses exceptional technical ability, impressive pace given his age, an elite engine and a real top-notch work-rate.
As things stand, he definitely wouldn’t usurp Emerson in Moyes’s current starting line up, but he would be a great option for us in attack, with Mohammed Kudus due to set off for AFCON with Ghana.
Filip Kostic is an elite operator – we witnessed that first hand when we faced Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League two seasons ago, and his winning mentality would definitely take West Ham to a new level.
Whether Juventus will be willing to sell him midway through the season remains to be seen though.
