Two years ago, West Ham rejected the chance to sign Olise from Reading for just £8 million – he was described as being as talented as Jack Grealish at the time.

And Hammers boss David Moyes will undoubtedly be regretting that decision now…

What a shame it is that Moyes didn’t have the foresight to bring the 21-year-old to the London Stadium two years ago.

He will undoubtedly now go on to smash it with Chelsea, when surrounded by a plethora of world-class players.

In fact, £35 million will most probably end up looking like an absolute bargain for the Blues.

Since joining Crystal Palace he has bagged six goals and 19 assists in 71 games, and last term he racked up an incredibly impressive 11 assists in 37 Premier League outings (Transfermarkt).

Michael Olise is clearly an elite talent, and he will only continue to get better and better as time goes on.

The 21-year-old’s trickery and pace out on the right wing would have added so much to the way in which the Hammers play. He would have provided really strong competition and cover for Jarrod Bowen if nothing else.

It’s a moot point now though, with Michael Olise set to join Chelsea in a big money deal. What might have been had Moyes been more willing to take a risk two years ago.
