West Ham boss David Moyes sends savage message to Howard Webb and his PGMOL VAR-my after the draw at Sheffield United.
David Moyes was trying to bite his tongue when asked about the officiating in West Ham’s 2-2 draw at Sheffield United.
And let’s face it, he’s had plenty of practice as Hammers manager since the introduction of the controversial video technology.
Last year Hammers News reported on the shocking fact that West Ham were officially the club worst affected by VAR interventions.
The one that still infuriates West Ham fans to this day is Jarrod Bowen’s infamous phantom foul on then Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy which denied the Hammers a deserved draw at Stamford Bridge.
It was dubbed the worst VAR decision yet at the time by West Ham boss Moyes and pundits.

Moyes sends savage message to Webb and PGMOL VAR-my
There has been no shortage of pretenders to that dubious title since as Premier League officiating and the use of VAR in the so-called best league in the world takes centre stage for all the wrong reasons nearly every weekend.
Fans and pundits have been left utterly bemused by the award of a last gasp penalty to Sheffield United following a phantom foul on striker Ollie McBurnie which left Alphonse Areola with a blood nose and lip.
To make matters worse, West Ham saw a stonewall penalty on Bowen ignored from the resulting kick-off after he was wrestled to the ground, denying him a clear header at goal.

VAR-cical scenes
No doubt the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) will send yet another meaningless apology to West Ham.
And no doubt their chief Howard Webb will appear on Sky Sports soon with Michael Owen to admit both decisions were wrong.
Well now West Ham boss Moyes has sent a savage message to Webb and his PGMOL VAR-my.
Speaking on TNT Sports after the game, the Scot said he was reluctant to pass comment and get himself a fine.
But he could not hold his tongue, delivering perhaps the most damning assessment possible.

Anger to apathy
Moyes says Premier League and VAR officiating is now so bad it’s not even worth talking about.
“As you well know it’s better that I don’t talk against it so I’ll try not to,” Moyes said.
“But I’ll try and answer your questions while I’m here. The answer would be yes (we were hard done by) to both of them. But I don’t really want to go into any detail in case you know somebody from somewhere’s watching.
“We have to come on (air) and answer the questions. But you know we get fined if we do.
“But look we’ve got used to a level of officiating now which everybody and the managers are sort of saying it’s hardly worth challenging at the moment.”
