Felipe Anderson has been on fire for Lazio this season and his form is yet further evidence that David Moyes can’t get the best out of flair players.
West Ham boss David Moyes sold Felipe Anderson to Lazio in for around £4 million back in the summer of 2021, according to Tutto Mercato Web.

At the time, it seemed like the right thing to do from the Hammers, despite the fact that we made a £32 million loss on the Brazilian.

However, selling Anderson for peanuts now looks like a really bad decision.
And the question must be asked, is Moyes incapable fo getting the best out of flair players?
Felipe Anderson on fire for Lazio as West Ham decision called into question
Anderson has bagged 10 goals and nine assists in 42 games for Lazio this season (Transfermarkt).
Last season, he bagged seven goals and eight assists in 48 games (Transfermarkt).
19 goal involvements already this season a really impressive return for someone who has just turned 30 and plays as a winger!

Whilst Anderson was really poor for West Ham during the final year or so that he spent in East London, it’s clear to see that he would have been a useful squad member for Moyes now.
The Brazilian would have provided superb competition for Said Benrahma and Jarrod Bowen on both wings. Despite having made eight new signings in the summer, West Ham’s bench is still very light indeed.
Selling Felipe Anderson for just £4 million now looks like an awful decision from West Ham. His form with Lazio proves that he just wasn’t given the chance to show his true ability with the Hammers.
And there is only one man to blame for for the Brazilian’s failed stint at the London Stadium in my opinion.
Moyes has consistently been unable to get the best out of players like Anderson, Sebastien Haller, Gianluca Scamacca, Said Benrahma, Lucas Paqueta…the list really is endless.
