Declan Rice caught reacting to West Ham relegation
Shortly after Arsenal’s post-match celebrations began at Selhurst Park, the PA announcer read out the other results.
Rice watched intently, as he wanted to know whether West Ham or Tottenham had been relegated from the Premier League.
He soon learned that Spurs had beaten Everton 1-0, resulting in the Hammers’ relegation despite their 3-0 victory.
Rice turned away and shook his head as he walked down the tunnel towards the Arsenal dressing room.
Some cynics have suggested the 27-year-old’s reaction was performative, as he knew someone would film him.
However, it appeared to be a genuine reaction from a former player and captain who spent 10 years at West Ham.
