Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has shared some bad news ahead of his side’s clash with West Ham United on Sunday.
West Ham head to Villa Park to take on Aston Villa tomorrow, and Unai Emery addressed the media for his pre-match press conference yesterday.

Hammers boss David Moyes will be confident heading into this game – his team have been in really good form this season.
Emery spoke glowingly about Moyes and his team yesterday, and the Spaniard is clearly expecting a tough game at Villa Park.
The Villans are a very strong team though, and have begun their 2023/24 Premier League campaign in fine fashion. They are currently sitting two places and two points ahead of us in the table.
However, they will be without some key players tomorrow…
Unai Emery shares huge Aston Villa blow ahead of West Ham United clash
The Villa boss addressed the national media during his pre-match press conference yesterday afternoon.
And Emery provided an update on Villa duo Jacob Ramsey and Alex Moreno, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail:
“We are patient with them because they are progressing very well. The last step they didn’t do being available to play two or three weeks ago. Moreno was training with us but the last step to be ready to play 100 per cent feeling good, he didn’t do. We stopped him. Now, he will need time, not a lot because now he is progressing well, to be available not only to train with us, to be available to play official matches. Jacob Ramsey we stopped him as well. He had a small injury again. Now we have to do the steps ahead with him being clear that he is going to be coming back 100 per cent in the level we need.”
Ramsey and Moreno have been key players for Villa over the past year or so. And with that in mind, having them unavailable for selection will really be hurting Emery.
A win for the East London outfit at Villa Park tomorrow would see us leap-frog the hosts in the table, and I think we have every chance of doing just that.
West Ham have a great record against Aston Villa, and I’m sure that Unai Emery is well aware of that.
The Hammers haven’t lost against the Villans in all competitions since 2015, and we’ve won five and drawn one out of our last six meetings with them.
Emery has turned Villa around, there’s no doubting that. They’re now a top class outfit. However, I still fancy us tomorrow. And with Villa missing some vitally important players, I reckon we could hit them on the counter attack time and time again, and turn them over easily.
