West Ham only want £22 million to sell Gianluca Scamacca this summer.

According to a report from Il Giorno, Gianluca Scamacca could be sold by West Ham in the summer transfer window if the club receive an offer of around €25 million (£22 million).

Hammers boss David Moyes brought the 24-year-old striker to the London Stadium from Sassuolo in the summer of 2022 for around £35 million (Sky Sports).

So selling him for £22 million would represent a £13 million loss for West Ham in just 12 months.

Il Giorno reckon that Serie A side Atalanta want to bring the Hammers hitman back to Italy.

And in order to do that, they might need to pay just £22 million.

I truly believe that selling Scamacca this summer would be a huge mistake from West Ham, especially for that kind of money.

I think that the 24-year-old forward is a top-class player who has been painfully misused by Moyes this season.

If Moyes finally realises that Scamacca needs to be played alongside another striker or two narrow wingers, then he will be a success at the London Stadium.

However, if West Ham sell Gianluca Scamacca to Atalanta this summer I have no doubts that he will rip it up back in Italy.

And Moyes will end up regretting not trying to make it work with the Italian at the London Stadium.

That said, I just don’t believe that the Hammers would even consider selling Scamacca for £22 million.
