A reporter who has David Sullivan’s ear has made a game-changing claim about West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen.
West Ham ended 2023 on top of the world but have brought down to earth with a bump to start the new year.
A spate of injuries to key players has resulted in drab home draws with Brighton and Bristol City.
The latter – which saw Lucas Paqueta, Konstantinos Mavropanos and top goalscorer Jarrod Bowen all leave the pitch injured – has also added another game to West Ham’s gruelling fixture schedule.
With Michail Antonio also out for six weeks and both Mohammed Kudus and Nayef Aguerd away at AFCON it has sparked concerns that West Ham’s challenge for a top six spot will be impacted.
With the top source inside West Ham admitting to Hammers News that no new signings are close ‘at the moment’ those worries are understandable.
Especially after it was claimed this week that Bowen could face over a month on the sidelines after his ankle was ‘too swollen to be scanned’.
There’s some much-needed good news for the Hammers, though, it seems.

Reporter who has Sullivan’s ear makes game-changing claim
Because a reporter who has David Sullivan’s ear has made a game-changing claim about West Ham star Bowen.
Hugh Southon of Claret and Hugh has doubled down on a report from The Evening Standard that Bowen will now only miss one Premier League game – away at Sheffield United on January 21st.
The Hammers have a replay at Bristol City on Tuesday which obviously comes too soon for West Ham’s main man.
But it is being claimed the club now ‘hope’ Bowen will only miss that and the Sheffield United match following a scan.

Bonanza Bowen boost
That means the Hammers’ top scorer should be back from the Thursday night home game against Bournemouth on February 1st.
“The Hammers are now hopeful that the central striker will miss only the Third Round FA Cup replay games against Bristol City next Tuesday and the Premier League away match at Sheffield United the following weekend,” Southon reports after citing the Standard’s claims.
That’s a game-changer for West Ham. Not only for the club’s top six hopes but also the pressure the Hammers are under to sign a forward in January.
There was more good news for West Ham yesterday when Paqueta posted a video on social media.
With Ghana highly unlikely to go deep at AFCON, Kudus could be back much sooner than many expected as well.
