A reporter says he’s not surprised by what he heard from the press box after the latest West Ham defeat because fans are bored of David Moyes ball.
It must feel like groundhog day for David Moyes at West Ham right now as speculation reignites over his future.
If West Ham were still riding the crest of the wave of their European glory back in June, it came crashing back down to earth last week.
Three defeats in a seven days to Aston Villa, Olympiacos and Everton have come as a rude awakening after a positive start to the new season for the Hammers.

After lifting the Europa Conference League in Prague – West Ham’s first major trophy for 43 years – coupled with the decent start to the season, Moyes looked to have fully turned things around after the dark days of the Premier League struggles last term.
The Scot was left clinging on to his job by his fingernails on more than one occasion last term. And he finds himself in all too familiar territory this.
Insiders close to the West Ham board are claiming Moyes could find himself out of a job within two weeks if the run of defeats continues.
Three consecutive defeats saw West Ham were jeered off by fans at the London Stadium. But it was as much about the performances – or lack of them – as results.
And a reporter says he’s not surprised by what he heard from the press box after the latest West Ham defeat because fans are bored of Moyes ball.

‘This team isn’t fun to watch… no surprise supporters are annoyed’
The Athletic’s Roshane Thomas took to X from the press box at the London Stadium after the game and then followed it up by savaging Moyes’ style and approach in a report.
“Loud boos from the home crowd and three losses in the space of a week,” Thomas said.
“This team isn’t fun to watch. A team of Bowen, Kudus, Paqueta and Ward-Prowse shouldn’t be producing performances like this. No surprise supporters are annoyed.”
Audible fan discontent will only serve to see the manager called into question – as it would at any club.
In a report titled ‘West Ham are not exciting to watch – and they should be’ Thomas doubled down on his criticism of the manager.
“The loud boos on the final whistle and the undercurrent of frustration were rather telling,” he said.
“Alarm bells are starting to ring following losses to Aston Villa, Olympiacos and now Everton. West Ham have been second best, poor offensively and monotonous to watch. The performances mirror the struggles of last season in the Premier League and a lack of urgency has been evident…

‘Players capable of attractive football but we rarely see it’
“This team has a short attention span, but that isn’t the most pressing issue.
“With the attacking riches of Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Mohammed Kudus complemented by the defensive steel of Edson Alvarez, plus the passing ability of James Ward-Prowse, West Ham have talent and the orchestrator to conduct it all. But this team is perennially playing with the handbrake on. They are not exciting to watch.
“This team is capable of so much more and Bowen’s goal in the 3-1 loss away to Liverpool showed they have it in them to play an attractive style of football — but we rarely see it.”
It’s hard to disagree with the points raised. And it is refreshing to see a reporter who has the privilege of access to Moyes and his press conferences actually come out and say it as it is.
Even if Thomas has likely now risked the wrath of Moyes next time they meet.
