West Ham United are now in talks with the agent of Luca Pellegrini ahead of a potential summer move to sign the Juventus star.

That’s according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition June 22nd, page 11) who claim that the Hammers are keen to bring the 23-year-old left-back to the London Stadium this summer.

The Italian would be a very useful addition for the East London outfit.

West Ham manager David Moyes desperately needs to bring some top-class competition and cover for Aaron Cresswell to the London Stadium before the start of the 2022/23 season.

The 32-year-old has been a great servant for West Ham over the past eight years but there have been definite signs of regression over the past year.

And it seems as though Moyes is edging ever closer to strengthening his options at left-back…

West Ham in talks to sign 23-year-old left-back

According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, the Hammers have met the agent of Juventus ace Luca Pellegrini – Vincenzo Raiola, about a potential move to bring him to East London from Turin.

Hopefully we can win the race for Pellegrini’s signature.

The 23-year-old is available for just £8.5 million according to GDS.

Pellegrini has bags of pace, is an able defender and offers a lot going forward as well. He is at an age where he will undoubtedly continue to improve at a fairly fast rate as well.

Pellegrini joined Juventus from Roma in 2019 for around £19 million (SI Soccer). He made an immediate impression in Turin but hasn’t been a regular starter over the past 18 months.

The 23-year-old is an attacking full-back by nature and can also operate further up the pitch if need be.

He actually rejected a move to West Ham in the summer of 2021 because he wanted to stay and fight for his place at Juve (Bianconero).

That obviously hasn’t worked out for him though. And a move to the London Stadium would be a smart step for his career.

And with West Ham allegedly in talks with Pellegrini’s agent, a transfer from Juventus to the Hammers could be imminent.
