Newcastle United have allegedly made an offer for reported West Ham United January transfer target Nicolo Zaniolo.

Much like the Hammers’ alleged bid though, Newcastle’s offer has been knocked back by the Italian giants, according to a report from Calciomercato.it.

West Ham reportedly made a loan to buy for £26 million offer for Zaniolo, but it was dependent on us getting 30 points between August and December 2023.

And Newcastle apparently went in with an offer deeply embedded with terms and conditions as well.

It seems as though both Premier League clubs won’t be signing the Italy international in the January transfer window unless they drastically change the terms of their offers…

Newcastle come in for West Ham January target

According to a report from Calciomercato.it, the Toon have made an offer for AS Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo. It is suggested that the bid consists of a £4 million loan fee and an option to buy him for £31 million in the summer – one that will become an obligation if he plays 75% or more of the Magpies’ games.

However, the good news for the Hammers is that Roma have allegedly knocked that offer back.

I really feel like West Ham should go back in with a fresh offer for Zaniolo, and this time a proper one.

The 23-year-old is a world-class player in the making. Italy boss Roberto Mancini once described the Roma ace as an ‘extraordinary’ player (Goal). So if there is a genuine chance to sign him, why on earth are we messing about with low-ball offers?

Zaniolo is big and powerful and standing at 6ft 3in tall, he seems to be perfectly built for the Premier League.

The Roma attacker can play in a variety of positions including the number 10 role and on both wings, and he has a proven track record of producing the goods at the very highest level for a sustained period of time.

With Newcastle having made a move for one of West Ham United’s biggest January targets though, it will be very hard indeed for Moyes to win the race for his signature.
